Hoodia is derived from an African plant.  In recent years, Hoodia has been used by many people for weight loss purposes.  Scientists discovered that there were elements from the plant that could help a person to lose a lot of weight.  Nowadays, people use it as an appetite suppressant that is all natural.  Hoodia supposedly has no stimulants that would be harmful to the body. 


 


Hoodia works when it manipulates your brain to thinking that you’re full.  In reality, you’re really not.  An element that works like glucose is situated in your brain with a much stronger result.  This element also works to make you believe that you have eaten enough food to satisfy your appetite.


 



 


It’s been noted that this supplement supposedly lowers blood pressure.  However, there is no scientific evidence that proves that theory.  Nor is there scientific evidence that your appetite will be suppressed by taking this.  You can find hoodia in natural health food stores all over. 


 


Even with that, as with any weight loss supplement, there are side effects to watch out for.  You can be at risk for liver disease, or any type of liver irregularity.  In addition to that, this supplement has not been approved by the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration), which may bring about caution. 


 


The hoodia brand that is used in the United States contains additives instead of the real thing from Africa.  This is done to cut costs and go out on the cheap end.  Of course, this can hurt your health as well. 


 


You should check with your doctor prior to taking any kind of weight loss supplement to make sure it’s right for you.
